StYLe FiLe

Just Ask Ali! Responding to questions you want to know about fashion, style and beauty. This month learn all about homemade masks to keep your skin polished and smooth.

Q: Dear Ali,
What is the best face mask to use? I have Sea Kelp & Mineral or Tea Tree and Witch Hazel. Help!

Seth

A: Oh Seth, your skin always looks amazing! Sea Kelp and MIneral detoxify the pore and get all the build up out while Tea Tree and Witch Hazel are anti-bacterial so it looks like you are on the right path if your skin is combination/oily and you can break out once in a while. Keep looking fabulous Seth!

Love,
Ali xoxo

So Seth's question inspires our Style File this month! Here are some recipes for at home masks you can do based on your skin type!

OILY SKIN/BLEMISH PRONE SKIN:
-Blend 1/2 tsp lemon juice, 1 egg white, 1 tsp of honey (heat in microwave just to melt together). Leave on for 20 minutes then rinse.
The lemon juice helps to exfoliate and brighten the skin, the egg white will help to draw out access oil and the honey will help to smooth and balance your skin!

-If you are Blemish Prone, after masking with the prior mask. Apply a thin layer of milk of magnesia to the effected areas, leave on for 20 min then rinse.

NORMAL SKIN:
-Mix 1 egg white, 1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal. Leave on 20 minutes then rinse.
This will keep your skin balanced and fresh.

DRY SKIN:
-Mix 1/2 of an avocado with 1/4 cup of honey. Leave on 20 minutes then rinse.
Avocados are a great source of omega fatty acids that dry skin is depleted in, honey will balance and rehydrate.

ALL SKIN TYPES:
-To Smooth skin: Warm honey to melt in the microwave, apply and leave on for 20 min. Rinse. Easy!
-To freshen: Apply a layer of plain yogurt to the skin, leave on for 20 min then rinse. Easy!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

Take Me Out To The Ball Game!
By C.R.Jack

Last evening marked another notch in this year's baseball season. The Cullen family squared off with Team Motley crew, with Esme and Carlisle welcoming the fans to the game. For Team Motley Crew we had Sulpicia, Garrett, Katie, Zafrina, and Peter. The Cullen Family consisted of Alice, Esme, Rosalie, and Emmett. The team representatives met on the pitchers mound, as Carlisle initiated the coin toss; Sulpicia calling heads for Team Motley Crew, Alice standing by as she saw the call play out in her visions. Team Motley Crew won the coin toss, heading to bat, with the Cullens swiftly taking the field.
First up to bat for team Motley Crew was Peter Nomad, hitting a groundball towards Emmett, and heading in safely to first base. Alice stood confidently on the pitchers mound as Sulpicia gracefully made her way to home plate, preparing for the pitch. A fastball careened out of Alice’s hands, landing straight in Esme’s glove for a strike. Sulpicia tightened her grip on the bat, and as the next pitch was thrown, Sulpicia connected with the ball, sending it along the ground to Rosalie, as she tagged first base for the teams first out of the game. Peter took the opportunity to slide into second base, staying there successfully. Next up to face Alice and the Cullens was Garrett Denali, who cracked the ball into the tree line. Emmett raced in search of the ball to no avail; Garrett scoring a home run and also bringing Peter into home plate. Following suit, Kate Denali stepped up to bat, gaining two strikes, but the third pitch giving her a single run to first base. Alice stepped back, putting a little spin on the ball, causing a foul and a strike from Zafrina Amazon. Third time was a charm for Zafrina, as she hit a double, sending herself to second, and Kate to third base. Rosalie tossed the ball back to Alice, who prepared her next pitch to Peter, for his second at bat. A curveball resulted in a pop foul which was caught by Esme, leading to the teams second out. Sulpicia returned to the plate for Team Motley crew, and as Alice threw out the pitch, she gasped seeing the balls trajectory in her vision.Carlisle shouted from the field, but it was too late; the ball hitting Sulpicia in the shoulder, causing an automatic walk to first base. At the same time, Kate made a move for home plate, crossing over it for the teams third score. With Sulpicia at first, and Zafrina on second, the Cullens were struggling to keep Motley Crew at bay as Garrett stepped up to bat. Alice smirked to the crowd, her visions showing that she would indeed strike Garrett out, causing the inning to be over for Team Motley Crew.

Carlisle updated the crowd, the score being Motley Crew 3, Cullens 0. First up to bat for the Cullens was Alice, smiling to Sulpicia as she stepped up to bat; the double run fresh in her mind with her visions on her side. Alice made it safely into second base without any trouble, leading Emmett to bat. Sulpicia threw out a fastball, resulting in two strikes and a single to first base for Emmett. Zafrina quickly threw the ball back to Sulpicia, as she turned to face Esme at the plate. A curveball later, Esme smacked the ball into the outfield for a home run, sending Alice, Emmett, and herself across the home plate; leaving the score tied at 3-3. Rosalie was next to bat, hitting a ground ball towards Kate, making it safely into second base. Before anyone else was able to return to the plate, Alice jumped up asking all participants to stop playing immediately. The players turned their attention to Alice, hearing her speak of unknown vampires in the area. The crowd was ushered back to the Cullens house, as the Volturi departed the game of their own accord. Both teams exited the field, keeping careful watch over the humans as they traveled.

With the game tied, Carlisle announced a rematch scheduled for next week, March 3rd at 4pm FT. All in all, it was another excellent game of baseball with Esme being the MVP of the game.
